A Table Quiz in aid of Killadooley Childcare will take place in Drennan’s Pub, Green Roads on Friday night May 17, starting at 9pm. Tables will consist of a team of four and the cost will be €40 per table.

A Social will take place in Killasmeestia Community Centre on this Friday night May 17 with music by Declan Aungier. Dancing will be from 9.30pm to 12.30am and supper will be served.


The Parents Council of Killadooley NS present Celebrity Chef Nevin Maguire in the Racket Hall Hotel, Roscrea on Thursday May 30 at 8pm. Tickets cost €20 each and are available from Wilson’s Daybreak, Borris in Ossory, Racket Hall Hotel, Mark Fahy or any committee member.


Congratulations to the boys and girls from Killadooley National School who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday May 4. Those who received were Aiva Coss, Emma Jane Coss, Jamie Coss, Eoin Daly, Grainne Fitzpatrick, Michael Gilbert, Edward Healy, Bobby Kealy, Aoife Keeshan, Ava Kennedy, Reece Leahy, Roisin Nolan, Jer Quinlan, Conor Wall and Daniel Whelan. On Saturday May 18 it will be the turn of the children from St Joseph’s National School.


The results were as follows 1st John and Catherine Dalton, 2nd Johnny Butler and Seamus O’Grady, Noel O’Sullivan and Michael Fitzpatrick, 3rd -John Delaney and Mary Maher, Michael Murphy and Jack Maher, 10th game Paddy Dunphy and Larry O’Mahony, Michelle Fitzpatrick and Edward Kenny, 20th game Anne Russell and Kieran Fitzpatrick.


A Monster memorial card game in honour of the late Micheal Dooley will take place this Thursday night May 16 at 9pm. Micheal was Treasurer of the club for many years and was responsible for starting the Progressive 25 Drive game in the club. It will be a €10 game with a perpetual trophy for the winner.


The semi-finals and final of the Joseph Thompson Memorial Billiards Tournament will take place in the O’Brien Hall on Sunday May 19. The semi-finalists are local player Joe Doheny V Philip Martin (Celbridge) and Timmy Murphy (Cork) V Paul Mc Laughlin (Edenderry). An updated list of those trained at present has been delivered to houses throughout the village. Extra copies of the list is available from the Post Office, both Churches and Wilsons Costcutter in Borris. Further training will be provided if there is enough interest. It is hoped to raise funds to provide defibrillators to both the Green Roads and Killasmeestia areas also, and to provide training to people in these areas. Another meeting will be held in a few weeks to see if there is interest from people in these areas. Anyone interested should contact Rhoda Brogan on 0873268896.


Three Ballaghmore ladies are taking part in the Womens Mini Marathon in aid of Aware. Sponsorship cards are in Phelans Postpoint in Ballaghmore. The Mini Marathon will take place on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
