The Tower Classic and Vintage Club Ballyfin, which is a newly formed club that started up in September 2012, proudly presented funds rasied last week to local charities.

The first main event was on June 1 this year when we held a sponsored road run in aid of The Cuisle Centre.

The proceeds of this run amounted to €3,000 which we were delighted to be able to present on our Cabaret night which was held on Saturday 20th July 2013. Unfortunately, due to a sudden illness, there was no person available from the centre to accept the cheque so Peter Lowrey manager of the Deadmans Inn Ballyfin kindly stepped in on their behalf.

“We would like to thank all who so generously donated to our sponsored run and also to all who bought tickets for the cabaret night,” said Denis Malone club chairman.

The club also donated €400 to Grove House, Abbeyleix and €400 to the Grotto Restoration Committee in Mountrath from ticket sales.

Mr Malone also thanked all who sponsored us for both events from all the members.
