The Parish lotto jackpot is now heading for €17,900 and it would be lovely jackpot to win.

On September 8 the jackpot was €17,600 and it was not won.

The lotto for September 22 will take place in Peadar’s Bar, with a possible jackpot of €17,900.

All tickets must be handed in before 9.30pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.

Laois Camogie Player of the Decade

Congratulations to Louise Mahony on been chosen as Laois Camogie Player of the Decade.

An honor truly deserved for her commitment to her Club, The Harps and to her county Laois.

Louise has been a super player for her club and has helped in no small way to making her team one of the best in the country and bringing much silverware to the club from both county titles and All-Ireland titles.

lions soccer Academy

With the soccer season back in full swing, the Lions soccer academy started back on Sunday September 14.

This Academy session caters for boys born in 2008 and 2009.

All welcome on Sundays at 11am.

Cullohill ICA

The September meeting of Cullohill ICA was held recently in the Community Centre.

Sympathy and prayers were offered to the families who had bereavements since our last meeting in June.

The pilgrimage to Knock Shrine proved to be a great success and a very prayerful day.

The guild offered it congratulations to the students from the parish who done so well in the Leaving and Junior Certificate exams, and they are wished all the best for the future.

Congratulations to Louise Mahony on been chosen as player of the decade in Laois Camogie, and the Laois Junior Camogie team are wished well for the All-Ireland final against Down.

Past pupils of Cullohill and Gurteen Schools are looking forward to a great weekend at the gathering on September 20 and 21.

Four members will attend the federation meeting in Portlaoise.

Nancy Phelan and Ann Delaney won the raffle.

A social cuppa ended the meeting.

Next meeting will take place on October 7 in the Community Centre.

Have a Cuppa in aid of Laois Hospice Foundation.

This year’s Laois Hospice coffee morning takes place on Thursday September 18, Ireland’s biggest coffee morning sponsored by Bewley’s.

Would you have an hour to spare on the 18 to host a coffee morning or evening, or arrange a coffee morning in your workplace? Invite a few friends and put on the kettle and share a cup of coffee.

Laois Hospice are looking for people to host coffee mornings or evenings on September 18.

All money collected in Laois is spent on hospice services in Laois.
