STUDENT GAMES The annual student games for all the local schools will once again be sponsored by Mr Brophy (Veterinary), Carlow and will take place on Sunday April 22. It would be nice to see ALL the schools turnout and give their students a relaxing day of athletics. Cards for the student games raffle are in circulation and your support would be much appreciated.

WHIST

Top Score at Newtown Whist was won by Mary Wheatley, Doonane. 1st lady Kit Farrell 2nd lady Teresa Mulhare. 1st Gent Michael O’Brien. 2nd gent John Graham. 1st Half Betty Shore. 2nd half Maureen Ferris. 1st quarter Mary Warren 2nd quarter Nora Fisher and David Farr. Raffle winners were Willie Murphy, Maureen Coady, John Harrison, Hannah Moore and Fr D Murphy. Whist continues as usual on Saturday next.

SET DANCING

Classes in Set Dancing continue in Behans of Tolerton every Thursday night commencing at 8.30 pm sharp. Next Ceili in Oisin Park will be on Easter Sunday April 8 at 9pm. Msic will be provided by Long Note Ceili Band. Admission is 10 euro and supper will be served.

CRETTYARD GFC

Last weeks winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were Lucy O’Shea, c/o Seamus O’Shea, Martin Doyle, Doonane, Flanders, c/o Niall Purcell. The winning numbers were 4-14-16-27.

ROSARY

The Rosary is recited at Our Lady’s Shrine, Rossmore, every Sunday at 3pm. All are welcome.

SHAVE AND DYE

The organisers of the ‘Shave and Dye’ which was held in Behans recently express sincere thanks to everyone who took part and supported the venture. All proceeds go to Cancer Research and the Home Care Teams.

Line Dancing continues in Newtown School on Mondays commencing at 7.30 pm. All are welcome.
