Parent & Toddler
Ballinakill Parent and Toddler is now back up and running on Thursday mornings from 9.30am in the Old School Community Hall. All are welcome.
Ballinakill Active Retirement Group are back this week. All are welcome on Wednesday afternoon from 1pm in the Old School Community Hall and new members are also welcome to join the group.
Bingo is held every Monday night in the hall on the square starting at 8.30 pm. Over €1,200 in prizes every week. There is also a raffle. More local support would be appreciated as crowds have dropped recently. Come and enjoy and you might be lucky.
Climb for Lewis
Michael Chambers and Ales Soucek are doing a climb on September 21st in aid of a little boy called Lewis who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive muscle wasting disease for which there is no cure. They intend to climb the spine of the Nephin Beg mountains starting in Bangor and ending up in Mulranny. This is a mammoth task across very rough terrain. Lewis is a grandson of Paddy and the late Margaret Walsh of Drimeterrill. Sponsorship cards will be available the shops/pubs/post office in the coming days. Please support this very worthy cause. Crossroads Youth Group are back up and running in the Hall in the square after their summer break. All are welcome.

Monster Table Quiz
There will be a monster table quiz on Saturday the 4th of October 2014 at 9.30pm sharp in Drury’s Public House. A table of 4 - €20.There will also be a raffle on the night. All proceeds from this event are going to the Irish Heart and Lung Transplant Association. Please support.
Training for children born in 2006 on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8pm and children born in 2005 on Friday evenings from 7 to 8pm. Trials will be held for older age groups. Contact Mick at 0872765871 from Abbeyleix Juvenile Soccer Club for more information.
Music classes start on Friday, September 19 at 7pm, in Spink. All musicians who have instruments on loan from the instrument bank must return the instruments for inspection. Any musicians who wish to apply for an instrument from the bank should do so now or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org Expressions of interest for adult music classes are being taken now, and can be sent back email@example.com or recorded in Heritage House, Abbeyleix. It is hoped to commence adult music classes from the end of September, in Abbeyleix. Looking forward to seeing all existing members returning, and hopefully many new members joining.
