Our u13 boys indoor soccer team made it to the semi-finals of the Leinster Championships which was held in Carlow. They drew one all and the extremely exciting match then went to penalties and unfortuneatelywe lost at that late stage of the game. A huge congratultions to the team jack Owens, Liam Crowley Cian and Jake Doyle Niall Gorman Andrew Flynn and Alan Kinsella and also to their coach Pat Owens for trainning the kids and traveling to all the distant locations thank you from Community games.

The County Art Results were announced during the week and we had a number of children placed. in the girls catagory we had U8 1st Chloe Keenan well done chloe you go on to represent Laois in the Nationals in Athlone.U10 highly commended was Lauren Johnston,U12 highly commended was Eimear Davis U12 boys 3rd place was Thomas Meredith U14 boys 1st place was Will Boland well done Will you too go forward to represent Laois in the Nationals in Athlone. U16 boys 2nd place Tadgh Gorman. Medal winners were represented with their medals in St. Patricks Hall in stradbally at 7.30 Monday 2nd April.

We are holding a church gate collection on the 5th/6th May to raise funds for the children who have qualified to represent Laois at Naitonals in Athlone we have 20 -25 children travelling and we need to take the burden off those parents and help send the children to Athlone for the weekend of the Nationals. We would also like to take this opportunity to Thank Ms. Greene , a teacher from Emo National School who has been guiding and rehearsing with the children preparing them for the Nationals we really appreciate all your efforts and the great amount of your own time that you have been giving to the choir.

We also have cross country runners who will be travelling up to athlone to compete in Nationals, Aoife Mooney, Rebecca Balfe, Eoin Keenan, Eddie Allen and Brian Ryan. All in all a fabulous achievement for such a small area . Well done.

Emo Tidy Towns wish you all a very Happy Easter. Our thanks to everyone especially Kieran and Brian for having our village looking clean and tidy over the holiday period.A work night is planned for Monday 16th.April for Laois clean up week. Meet at 7pm in village center.
