Outing to Wexford on Wednesday August 29. Bus leaving Clonaslee at 9 am, stopping at

Talbot Hotel for tea and scones. Bus will leave Wexford at 2 pm and head to Our Lady’s Island for 3 pm. In the evening a four course meal will be at the Talbot Hotel at 6 pm. Cost per person is €20 for meal and bus is €7 return. Names to be in by Monday August 27 to John Callaghan, chairman at 087-613-2044 or Maire at 087-212-2766.

CHURCH GROUNDS

The church grounds will be busy during the next two weeks. The grounds will be drained; new gulley’s put in and resurfaced. People attending morning mass are asked to park outside the grounds. We expect the work to be completed prior to the opening of Scoil Bhride on Sept 3rd.

CLONASLEE SHOW DRAW

Last week for your chance to win in the Clonaslee Show draw. Tickets are available from all Show members. Members must bring in money and ticket stubs to Mary Rose Corbet no later than Thursday August 23. Draw takes place August 24 in the Heritage Centre at 8 pm.

NEW ALTAR SERVERS

Anyone wishing to serve at mass please collect a form from the Fr Shortall Room after either mass and return it to the sacristy as soon as possible. You will be contacted by Dolores Murray when all forms are received.

COMMUNITY ALERT

Be wary of anyone who comes to your door without prior arrangement saying they need access to your home or saying they can check your TV or aerial. Neither Saorview nor RTE are sending anyone door to door to check out if your TV is Saorview ready.

Our sympathies go to the family, friends and neighbours of Catherine Costelloe, Knockdrin, Rhode, Offaly and formerly of Coolnabanch who died during the week.

SLIEVE BLOOM ASSOCIATION

There was a well attended meeting in the ICA House, Mountmellick on Thursday, August 16th. A minutes silence was held for former member, Johnny McKane RIP from Drummond. This year’s tour will be to Cobh, visiting the Titanic Experience, Museum, Heritage Centre and Cathedral. The bus will commence picking up in Mountmellick at 8am and will continue on through Rosenallis, Clonaslee and Kinnity.
