SHOE BOX APPEAL

Team Hope is appealing to everyone to give a little to those forgotten children who are victims of war, disease or poverty. Leaflets have been given to children in all the local schools. Clonaslee Branch AGM took place in parochial hall with election of officers and all new motions discussed by all. All of events will now be publicised in these notes. CCE MUSIC CLASSES

Music classes are starting after Halloween in Clonaslee. Classes is for beginners and advanced. The following instruments can be taught, tin whistle, flute, fiddle, button accordian, piano accordian, banjo and keyboard. For more information contact John Conway 085-2851772. SINGING CLASSES

Singing classes are held every Saturday morning 10.30-11.30 in the Parochial hall cost per child is €4. Everyone welcome.

SINGING CIRCLe

Singing circle is held on the first Friday of every month in the Parochial hall from 9pm-12 midnight. All singers welcome. Free.

CELEBRATING HERITAGE

A full day of talks and information on conserving our Laois Heritage of buildings, sites, graveyards, traditional farm buildings and the role of the Heritage Council in Community Heritage projects. FLU VACCINATION

The influenza vaccine is recommended for those who are aged 65 years and older and to younger people in particular ‘at-risk’ groups. People age 18 years and older may attend their GP or pharmacist for vaccination. People under 18 years should attend their GP. While vaccines are free to all who are aged 65 years and older and to younger people in the at-risk group, people who do not have a Medical Card or GP Visit Card will be charged a consultation fee. COMMUNITY LIBRARY

Our library is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm – 4 pm. A great selection of books available. To join the library, drop into or contact Matt Barrett on 864-8519. A great way to pass the time on the long nights.

SOCIAL DANCING

A great night of dancing and exercise every Tuesday night from 8 pm-9:30 pm in the Community Centre. Maureen Culliton is the teacher with over 25 years’ experience. No partner needed, light refreshments served after the session. All very welcome to join in the fun.

PARENT TODDLER MORNING

The Clonaslee branch of the Parent Toddler Morning is on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am – 11:30 am in the Clonaslee Community Centre. Cost is €3 per family. Everyone welcome.
