Camross Fashion show
The fashion show was an outstanding success. Mrs Marguerite Sheeran of Coolrain was a very capable MC accompanied by Damien Bowe. Several models took to the catwalk and they were excellent. It must be three years or more since the last fashion show was held.
So many women in the parish were probably not in the hall since the last one, so it was wonderful entertainment and a way of bringing out people who otherwise go so few places.
Also into the bargain it was profitable for the school at a time when it is getting harder and harder to raise funds. Sincere thanks to everyone involved especially the local teachers for their work.
The style from Marguerite Bradford’s shop in Mountmellick was out of this world and models from the parish Marian Delaney, Catherine Lalor Conroy, Maureen Cuddy, Mairead Kavanagh, Ms Horan (school Principal), Ms Betty Cordial Lamb (school Vice Principal) and Mr Jackie Meagher (teacher) – did the costumes justice. Elizabeth Cooper and Tadgh Doran also took to the catwalk along with several other models. There was a raffle and entertainment all contributing to a very enjoyable occasion.
The first in a series of meetings on renewing and remembering our faith will take place in the St Fergal’s Church, Camross on Tuesday evening November 6 from 7 to 8pm. There will be light refreshments served afterwards. All are welcome.
The next dance will be on Saturday night, November 3. Music is by Geraldine & Kinfolk.
