Ballyroan Abbey GAA Club would like to thank all who participated or helped in any way to make our recent run such a success. We had over 100 registered which was a great number as many people were recovering from recent festivities. Walkers were entered in a draw for spot prizes and there are too many to mention. In the senior men’s category Tony Reilly 1st, Michael Cunningham 2nd and Seamus Miller 3rd. Men’s 0’40 Noel Marum 1st, PJ Carroll 2nd and Tim Churchouse 3rd. Men’s O50 Matin McDonald 1st, Dessie Shorton 2nd and D Bermingham 3rd. Ladies senior, Edel Mooney 1st, Grace McConnell 2nd and Breda McDonald 3rd. Masters women Jean McEvoy 1st, Ann Churchouse 2nd and Norah McGrath 3rd. U19 girls Kate McDonald, U16 Boys Cian McDonald 1st, Shaun Fitzpatrick 2nd and U16 girls Avril Deegan 1st and Aine McDonald 2nd.


Condolences to the family of the late Patrick Lennon of Upper Crubbin, Ballyroan who passed away on December 17 peacefully in thecare of the Beacon Hospital, Dublin. Deeply missed by his wife, Teresa and sons Daniel and Joshua, daughter Aislinn, parents Ellen and Jimmy, brother James, sister Maureen (Ryan), extended family and friends. Reposed at his home with removal to St Patricks Church, Ballyroan for Requiem Mass with Burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery. Donations if desired to The Cuisle Centre, Portlaoise.


Condolences to the family of the late Kitty Fogarty (nee Keenan) of Main Street, Ballyroan who passed away on December 17. Wife of the late Fran, Kitty was beloved mother of Noreen, Mary, Ann, Frank, Catherine, Teresa, Michael, Helen, Patrick, Teena, Clare, Josephine and Bernadette. Also deeply regretted by wide extended family relatives and friends.

Removal from the Chapel of Rest of The Regional Hospital Portlaoise to arrive at St Patrick’s Church Ballyroan for funeral Mass followed by Burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
