Graiguecullen Parish Monster Bingo will be held on next Sunday, March 24 at 3pm in St Fiacc’s Hall, Graiguecullen. Great Money to be won on the day. All lines checks €50, any two lines €100, all full houses €200, There will be over €6,000 overall in prizes to be won plus Jackpot. Costs are Jackpot and Flyers €2 each, Small Book €2.50, Six Panel Book €5 and Double Book €10. There will be prizes to left and right of Full House winners. Free prizes for legs of lamb.


Daffodil Day takes place on Friday, March 22. The committee need small baskets for displays. These can be left into the Graiguecullen Parish Centre.


There was no winner of the recent lotto Jackpot. The numbers drawn were 03, 11, 15 and 24. The four lucky dip winners were Matt Byrne, Colm and Betty, Stefan Comerford and Deirdre Whelan each received €25. The seller’s prize of €25 was won by Brendan Fitzpatrick. The Jackpot for next draw stands at €8,600 and tickets can be purchased for €2 from any club member or in the local shop and public houses


The Annual General Meeting of the Heatherhill Residents Association will take place on Wednesday, March 27 at 7pm in St Fiacc’s house, new hall, Killeshin Road, Graiguecullen.


The Big Trad Train, comprising 20 musicians, four vocalists, singing soul, jazz, blues brothers, funk and much more are in concert in the Talbot Hotel on Wednesday,April 3 at 8pm. A tea party with ‘Pervish’ takes place in St Fiacc’s House on Thursday, April 4 from 5pm to 7pm. ‘Pervish’ have played at Electric Picnic 2012, and their show with music song and dance have played to sell out gigs nationwide. It costs €10 and tickets available from St Fiacc’s Cafe or from Vonnie at 0863629516. Profits to St Fiacc’s House.


The quarterly collection for the support of the priests of the parish will be taken up at all Masses over the Easter weekend. Envelopes are in envelope boxes or alternatively you can use the special envelopes available at the church doors.

HOLY WEEK services

Holy Week and Easter Timetable available at church doors. Palm Sunday; Palms will be blessed and distributed at all Masses next weekend.


Thanks to everyone involved in the Women’s Pampering Day in aid of St. Fiacc’s House and Éist Centre. It was a great success and special thanks to everyone who gave their services on the day. The Parish is offering a Baptism Preparation Evening to all parents seeking Baptism for their child. This meeting will take place once a month in our Parish Centre from 7pm to 8.30pm on Monday 25 March. While this evening is optional, we strongly encourage parents to avail of the meeting as we are anxious to assist them in any way we can at this special time.

The AGM of the Holy Cross Sodality and Cemetery Committee will be held immediately after 10.15am Mass on Sunday April 7. All members of the Sodality are requested to attend.

HOLY LAND pilgrimage

The parish is investigating the possibility of having their second pilgrimage to the Holy Land following the very successful trip in 2009. Subject to interest they plan to travel on April 22, 2014 for nine days/eight nights to many sites including the Sea of Galilee, Tiberius, Nazareth, Cana, Mount Taber, Jordan River, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and many other Biblical sites. The cost of the pilgrimage will be €1,475 approx. If people are interested give your name with a €100 deposit to Tully’s Travel before June 1, 2013.

Property tax meeting

The Lacey Connor Motley Sinn Fein Cumann wishes to thank all the people who attended the Family Home/Property Tax meeting held recently in. Graiguecullen. Deputy Brian Stanley spoke at length about the Property/Home Tax , its application and its implications for Householders and Homeowners in the State A very informative and lively question and answer session followed. As part of their campaign Sinn Fein Cumann members will be calling on householders in the coming weeks and months to sign a petition to repeal the unfair Home/ Property Tax. They plan to present it to the Dáil.
