The annual fundraiser for Vita, Friends of Fr Doheny will take place on Friday 9th of August at 7pm. All walkers/runners young and old welcome for 5km route in Ballyouskill. Entry €5 per person, alternatively sponsorship cards are available from email@example.com Spot prizes, entertainment and refreshments on the night. All support gratefully appreciated for this local charity, working towards ending poverty, by increasing the sustainability of people’s lives in Ethiopia.
Walkers meet every morning at 9.30 am in the square for a walk around the Tea Rooms up to Heywood Gardens. All Welcome
Bingo continues every Monday night in the hall on the square at 8.30 pm. Over €1,200 in prize money,also a raffle on the night. Come along for a night out and a laugh.

Bishop Denis Nulty
Fr Denis Nulty has been ordained Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin. The ceremony took place on Sunday the 4th of August at 3pm in Carlow Cathedral. The chief consecrator was Archbishop Diarmuid Martin assisted by Bishop Michael Smith of Meath and the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown. Homily was given by Monsignor Brendan Byrne who has served as Diocesan Administrator for the past three years. The parish of Ballinakill was represented by John Fitzpatrick who carried the Parish Banner, Margaret Mc Donald and Willie Stone.
