The monthly meeting took place on Thursday night last October, presided over by guild president Mary Keenan. Votes of sympathy were passed with the following. Tynan family Clonincurragh, Darcy family Gash, Scully family, Garrabaun Camross, O’Sullivan family Coolraine, Fitzpatrick family Badgerisland, Murphy family Badger Hill, Bourke family Clonin. Competition winners are as follows Noreen Dollard, Betty Gorman, Maura Phelan. Raffle was won by Kay Butler. Competition for November ‘smallest cup and saucer’. Hostess for November Mai Bowe and Mary O’Shea. It is hoped to have mass for deceased member in November. Thank you to Marie from Apis chocolates who gave us a demonstration on fudge making.
Craft day will take place in ICA Hall Castletown on October 26 from 10am -4pm. Bring packed lunch.

This sale is set for the parochial hall Mountrath on December 11 commencing at 7.30pm. Usual stalls, more details nearer to time.
Late Mary Mullaney
Sympathy is extended to the Mullaney family Gash Castletown. Mrs Mullaney had been ill for some time and passed away on Friday October 4. Having reposed at her residence her remains were removed to St Edmunds Church Castletown on Saturday evening and funeral took place to St Fintan’s cemetery on Sunday morning. Chief mourners are her husband Pat sons Gerard, PJ and Sean, daughter Kathleen, brothers Michael and Matty Ryan, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces relatives and friends.
Br Bernardine CUNNIFFE
Condolences to the family and Br Bernardine (Miguel House, Castletown and formerly of Moneen, Castlebar, who died on October 7. Deeply regretted by his brothers Tom and Jim, his extended family, friends, confreres and staff of Miguel House. Reposed at Miguel House with funeral liturgy followed by mass at 2.30pm in St Edmund’s Parish Church. Burial afterwards in the community cemetery Castletown.
