Anniversary Masses

The anniversary mass for Lourda and Colette Collier (nee McDonald) will be celebrated in St Fergals Church Camross on Saturday, October 19 at 8pm. The first anniversary of Ultan Bergin Glencondra, who passed away on October 8, and mass will be celebrated in St Fergals Church Camross on Sunday morning next at 10am.

HARVEST mASS

The Harvest Thanksgiving Service in Lacca Church will be held on Sunday October 20 at 4pm, followed by tea.

Late Margaret Peggy Kirwan

Sincere sympathy is to Angela Kirwan nee Delaney formerly of Drimmo on the death of her Mother-in-law Mrs Margaret Kirwan of Main Street Borris-in-Ossory who passed away on Monday October 6 at her residence Villa Maria. Mrs Kirwan had reached a great age and having reposed at the residence of her son William in Killesmestia the remains were removed to St Canices Church Borris-in-Ossory on Wednesday for requiem mass celebrated by Reverend Fr Jackie Robinson and joined by Reverend Fr Martin Delaney PP Rathdowney. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. Chief mourners are her husband Bill sons Michael, Laurence, Mark, Martin and William, daughters Carmel and Maria, sister Nora, Maria and Kathleen, brother Jude sons-in-law Willie and Des, daughters-in-law Mary, Julie, Angela and Caroline, grand children, relatives neighbours and many friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

Late Mary Mullaney

Sympathy is extended to the Mullaney family Gash Castletown. Mrs Mullaney had been ill for some time and passed away on Friday October 4. Having reposed at her residence her remains were removed to St Edmunds Church Castletown on Saturday evening and funeral took place to St Fintan’s cemetery on Sunday morning. Chief mourners are her husband Pat sons Gerard, PJ and Sean daughter Kathleen brothers Michael and Matty Ryan, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces relatives and friends.

Parish social

The October parish social was another good night’s entertainment despite other attractions and the next outing will be the November parish dance in the centre on Saturday November 2.

Run for the Hills

The organisers of the recent Run for the Hills wish to express their appreciation to all who contributed in any way. This was the first such event in the parish and with the good weather and perfect conditions it is hoped to make this an annual event.

Fundraising dance

The Laois branch of MS is holding a fundraising dance in the Manor Hotel Abbeyleix on this Thursday night October 17 with music by Louise Morrissey commencing at 9.30pm and your support will be gratefully appreciated.
