A meeting took place on Wednesday, October 9 last in the Wheel Inn, Ballyouskill to discuss the purchase of a difibrillator for the area. Gerry Foley, paramedic explained the importance of having access to such a vital piece of equipment seeing as it takes an average of forty minutes (mostly due to cutbacks) for an ambulance to come from Kilkenny or Portlaoise to respond to an emergency. It is hoped to provide training to up to twelve living in the surrounding townlands. Another meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 16 next to discuss fundraising. All welcome.
