At the Annual General Meeting in September 2012, the new committee of the Durrow Development Forum was formed with officers being appointed at a subsequent meeting. Committee membership was as follows: chairperson Evelyn Clancy, vice chairperson Noeleen Dunphy, treasurer Mary Welsh. Committee members: Jim Clancy, Delphine Lawlor, Mary Dowling, Daniel Dunne, Michael Conroy, Kathleen Drennan, Emer O’Brien, Michael Dunphy and Liam Phelan. During the year we were delighted to welcome Kay Clancy and Rita Casey to the committee.
The past 12 months have probably been the busiest yet but have been extremely rewarding for the committee. The committee would like to acknowledge the ongoing support of Laois Partnership Co. and Laois County Council without whose support and financial assistance we would not be able to do much of the work that is so vital to our community. They also thanked the army of over 100 volunteers who have assisted over the last year. As a voluntary committee of 15 with a large workload, it would be impossible for us to carry out our work without their support. We were delighted to see many few faces come on board this year.
Marian Mahony (secretary) has resigned from the committee. The meeting was brought to a close by the chairperson Evelyn Clancy thanking Marian for the fantastic work she has done on the committee. She brought a new professionalism to the forum and took on a huge work load. She will be greatly missed.
See next week for more.
