Everest climber to walk and talk in Durrow

RENOWNED Irish explorer, mountaineer and author Frank Nugent will be in Durrow on Sunday, March 18 to walk and launch the newly revamped Durrow Leafy Loops and associated App downloads in Castle Durrow Hotel at 11.30am.

RENOWNED Irish explorer, mountaineer and author Frank Nugent will be in Durrow on Sunday, March 18 to walk and launch the newly revamped Durrow Leafy Loops and associated App downloads in Castle Durrow Hotel at 11.30am.

Mr Nugent, who is author of a book on Irish Polar explorers “Seek The Frozen Lands” was deputy leader of the first successful Irish Everest Expedition (1993). He also followed in the footsteps of Shackleton across the Island of South Georgia (South Arís Expedition 1997), and sailed the North-West Passage in the wake of Crozier and McClintock (Northabout Expedition 2001).

Later in the evening at 7pm, Frank will give a slideshow and talk on his exploits during these three expeditions. Entry is free and all are welcome.
