There was no winner in this week’s jackpot which was €6,850. The numbers drawn were 10, 18, 23, 25. The 10 winners of €15 were Emily Treacy, Aidan Campion, Jackie Reilly, Ian Maher, M. Duggan, Anne Fitzpatrick, Jim Ryan, Rebecca Treacy, Mick Bergin, Edmund Sheeran. Next week’s jackpot will be €7,000. Tickets can be purchased from all shops or from any local promoter.

SCOUTS

Congratulation to 9 cubs from 2nd Laois Rathdowney cub pack who came 2 in the Scout County Cub Challenge event held in Garryhinch woods recently. They will now go forward to help represent the Slieve Bloom Scout County in the national finals at Castle Saunderson, Cavan. Also thank you to everyone who supported the twelve days of Christmas raffle, it is much appreciated. The money raised stays in the local Scout Group best of luck to everyone in the draw on December 14.

CAROL SERVICE

You and your family are invited to a Christmas Carol Service on Sunday December 14 at 19.00, in the church of the Holy Trinity Rathdowney. Tea and coffee will be served afterwards in the Marion Centre. We look forward to seeing you there.

CHESS

The chess club (adults) has changed its venue it will be held in O’Malley’s on Thursday night at 8pm. All chess players welcome, phone 0872388064 for more information.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

Painting lessons every Wednesday from 10 to 12 noon, Set dancing for those aged 8 and over, adult or child on Wednesday from 7 to 8pm €5 per session, minimum of 10 required for classes to commence. For more details on above please contact Pauline on 087 6572701.

Charity Shop

St Vincents De Paul shop is looking for clothing donations all men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories are gratefully accepted.

BINGO

A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.

BOOK CLUB

The next meeting is Tuesday December 9, from 8-9pm in Rathdowney Library, new members always welcome to come along. The book for this month is Worth Dying For by Lee Child. For any more details contact the Library on 0505 46852.

Community Awards

Auction

The senior club would like to thank everyone who attended and helped out in our auction recently. Thanks also to the Errill hall committee for the use of the premises on the day. This was a very successful and enjoyable event.
