homeless APPEAL

Items for shoebox gifts for the homeless are being collected by Clonaslee Pharmacy. Give a small gift and a bit of hope to a homeless person this holiday season. Appreciated gifts include toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, sweets or chocolates, socks, hats, scarves, gloves. Even a euro will help!

COMMUNITY ALERT

Please report any suspicious cars or vans you see around. Do not entertain callers to your house selling items. Always ask for identification. Those with monitor alarms please wear your panic button, it is no use on the table or in the other room. Anyone with a peep hole should use it before answering your door. Be vigilant.

MONITOR ALARMS

All monitor alarms must be returned to the community alert when the person no longer requires one. They belong to the committee and we install them for the next person who requires one. Please do not give it to anyone else. Teresa Maloney of Task installs the alarms and can always be reached on 087-970-5651.

Santa arrives to the Clonaslee Pharmacy on Sunday December 21 from 12 noon – 2 pm.

CLONASLEE BRANCH CCE

We have five beginner button accordions and one fiddle to rent for a year, to give a child a chance to try the instrument before buying one. Classes continue every Thursday from 4:15pm in the Community Centre. For further information contact 085-285-1772. Classes will finish Thursday December 11 and resume on Thursday January 9.

SINGING AND MUSIC

The next singing and music session will be on Friday December 12 at 8:30 pm in the Parochial Hall. This is the one for Christmas so feel free to dress appropriately and bring along some festive songs, all are welcome.

SANTA COMING

The festive season is fast approaching so what better way to get excited than for the children to meet with the big man himself on Saturday December 13 at Swans bar at 6 pm in conjunction with Clonaslee ICA.

CHRISTMAS DRAW

Clonaslee Comhaltas will hold their annual Christmas draw on Saturday December 13 at Fallon’s bar and lounge, tickets €2 each, available from committee or at 085-178-1585

SCOIL BHRÍDE NEWS

Pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th Class took part in the Annual Hallelujah Choir Concert at City West on Friday December 5, a highlight of the year, and one of their best ever performances. The children had a truly wonderful day out and will cherish the whole experience. Well done to all concerned. Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for our school and we look forward to the following events over the next few weeks.

Blessing of the school crib on Monday December 15 at 12 pm. Visiting the sick at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick on Tuesday December 16 at 10 am. Annual school Christmas concert on Thursday December 18 at 8pm. Nativity Play at Saturday night mass on December 20 at 8 pm.

Well done to the boys and girls from 5th and 6th Class who took part in the Basketball Blitz in the Community Centre on December 2. Our teams played very well against teams from Mucklagh, Tullamore and Castlecuffe displaying great skill and determination.

DANCE LESSONS

Lessons in social dancing, waltz, quickstep, foxtrot, jive and slosh commencing Tuesday November 18 and continuing each Tuesday from 8-9:30 pm at An Sean Chistin, Irey, Ballyfin. Further details from Maureen on 087-648-2038.

BABY PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP
