Maura O’Gorman, Slieve Bloom Park received the Unsung Hero award at the Laois Community and Voluntary Awards 2012, out of 24 nominees. Maura received a Galway crystal vase and framed certificate. Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work. The Clodiagh Players Drama Group, Tidy Towns and Community Centre also received framed certificates.

ST STEPHENS DAY WALK

The launch of the twentieth St Stephen’s Day Walk in aid of Laois Hospice is tonight, Tuesday December 4 in the Heritage Centre at 8.15pm. Liam O’Neill, President of the GAA, will be in attendance. All are welcome to attend.

CLONASLEE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

The monthly meeting of the CCDA is on Monday December 10 at 8:30 pm in the Community Centre. All members please attend.

SAINT VINCENT de PAUL

The monthly SVdP meeting is after evening mass on Friday December 7 in the Fr Shortall Room. All members asked to attend.

CLONASLEE ST MANMANS GAA

The AGM for Clonaslee St Manmans GAA is on Friday December 7 at 7:30 pm in the Community Centre. We encourage all members to attend.DRAMA

Clodiagh Players present the adult comedy Breezeblock Park in the Balcony Theatre, Mountmellick on Thursday December 13, and the Parochial Hall, Clonaslee on Friday December 14 and Saturday December 15. Performances begin at 8 pm sharp. Doors open at 7:15 pm. Cost is adults €10, concession €8 with student ID required. Booking must be made in advance by contacting 085-783-1104.

ADVENT CARD

An advent card has been delivered to all houses in parish. Inside the card is a prayer for each week of Advent; Peace, Hope, Joy and Love. Families can say these prayers while lighting an advent candle before a meal together each day or once a week.

CCE CLONASLEE BRANCH

Music classes have now started in the Community Centre. Juniors 6-7pm and adults 7-8pm. Cost of 10 classes is €50.00. Rental of instruments can be arranged at reasonable rates. You may still avail of these classes. For more information contact John Conway 085-285-1772. Or any committee member.

CCE SINGING CLASSES

Singing classes held in the Parochial Hall every Saturday 10.30 to 11.30am. Cost is €4 per child.

ADULT BADMINTON

Badminton for adults is on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 8 pm in the Community Centre. All are welcome to come and bash a few!

SOCIAL SERVICES

Join us every Thursday at 7 pm in the Community Centre. Please come along for a game of bingo, a chat and cuppa. Contact John Callaghan, Chairman on 087-613-2044.

COMMUNITY LIBRARY

Our library is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm – 4 pm. A great selection of books available. To join the library, drop into or contact Matt Barrett on 864-8519. A great way to pass the time on the long nights.

SOCIAL AND SEQUENCE DANCING

A great night of dancing and exercise every Tuesday night from 8 pm-9:30 pm in the Community Centre. No partner needed, light refreshments served after the session. All very welcome to join in the fun.

PARENT TODDLER MORNING

The Clonaslee branch of the Parent Toddler Morning is on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am – 11:30 am in the Clonaslee Community Centre. Cost is €3 per family. Everyone is welcome.

IRISH DANCING

Irish dancing is in the Parochial Hall on Tuesdays from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. All children are very welcome, all levels catered for. For more information contact Siobhan on 086-856-8029.

PILATES

Pilates classes is on in the Heritage Centre on Wednesdays at 8 pm. For further information you may contact Marie Fogarty on 087-282-6088.
