Clonaslee College Parents Association

Meeting will be held in the college on Tuesday February 24 at 8pm. It is important that parents of 6th year students attend as the 2015 debs will be discussed.

Cór an Earraigh

To add to the excitement of Seachtain na Gaeilge and to afford people an opportunity to sing in our native tongue, Maureen Culleton is inviting members of the public to join in an informal sing along of the traditional songs which we learned as students during our primary school education,e.g.Trasna na dTonnta,Báidín Fheidhlimí.The first rehearsal will take place in Portlaoise Library onWednesday February 18 at 6.30pm for 45mins.

The group will perform the songs as part of the activities for Seachtain na Gaeilge in the Library on Wednesday March 4. Earnestly looking forward to hearing from people interested in Cór an Earraigh.Contact Maureen Culleton 0876482038 or email

January meeting was held in the Green School our competition winners were 1st place Martha Doolan, 2nd place Maureen Bloomer. We would like to offer our sympathies to the families of Theresa Redmond who sadly passed away last month.

Raffle prize was won by Martha Doolan.

The church gate collection on behalf of the Heart Foundation raised an impressive €430 Thank you to everyone for your support which we greatly appreciate for this worthy cause.

The February meeting was yesterday Monday, February 16 in the Green School, details next week.


Congratulationsto Gemma Goulding who won a National Leadership award for the Macra na Ferime we would like to wish her well for next week.


A fundraiser in aid of The Friends of St Vincent’s Hospital Mountmellick is being held on Friday February 20 at 9pm in The Heritage Hotel Portlaoise with music by Shawn Cuddy and his band. Tickets at €15 available from Jackie 087 2770625.
