Late Fr Patrick Kehoe
Condolences to the family of the late Fr Patrick Kehoe, Abbeyleix, retired Parish Priest of Abbeyleix, who died on February 6. Predeceased by his brother Sean and sister Eileen. Deeply regretted by his loving brother Tom, sisters Mai Murphy and Sr M Regina, the Bishop and Priests of Kildare and Leighlin, his devoted housekeeper Nora, extended family, parishioners, relatives and friends. Reposed at the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix where Requiem Mass was celebrated last Sunday. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Male and female volunteers required urgently to help out at Abbeyleix Youth Cafe. We have a fantastic facility in our community for our Youth and need an injection of leadership, new ideas and fun in our cafe. If you have time on your hands and would like to work with our Youth we would be very interested in hearing from you. Our Cafe currently is opening only twice or so a month due to lack of volunteers. It is an opportunity for Leaving Cert or college students to gain experience in a community project. Call Chris on 087 2424060 if interested.

Cycling & Touring
Laois Cycling & Touring Club is looking for new members from all over Laois. The club meets each Sunday at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise at 8:45am. Routes to suit all levels of cyclists. Beginners will be accompanied by one or more of our experienced club members. All cyclists should have a road worthy bike, helmet and a drink them. The Abbeyleix Bog Project is planning another section of the board walk in 2015, which will continue this loop across the entire bog. It will be open to the entire community to buy their very own metre of Board walk , which will have your own name plaque which you can dedicate to whoever you like .
