Parent & Toddler

Ballinakill Parent and Toddler group resumes on Thursday 12th September from 9.30 - 11.30 in the Old School Community Hall. .

Walkers

Walkers meet every morning at 9.30 am in the square for a walk around the Tea Rooms up to Heywood Gardens.

Bingo

Bingo will be held in the Old School Community Hall for the foreseeable future due to renovations in the Old Hall. Over €1,200 in prize money, also a raffle on the night.

Threshing Day

As part of the Knock National School Threshing Day a baking and crafts competition will be held for children and adults. Kelly-Lou Cakes, Portlaoise have agreed to judge the competitions. The categories are Adults - 1 Fruit Cake, 2 Fruit Scones, 3 Brown Soda Bread, 4 Sponge cake with jam filling. Children - All entries must be handmade and the work of the child who is exhibiting. Two sections in each, under 9 and under 13. 1.4 Decorated cupcakes, 2.4 cookies, 3.4 plain scones, 4 A novelty birthday cake. Children’s Crafts. 1. Decorated wooden spoon, 2 Piece of handwriting (not exceeding 50 words) 3 Recycled sculpture made from cardboard boxes (not exceeding 12 inches by 12 inches), 4 An animal or bird made entirely from plant material. Entries to be handed into Marquee at the Threshing Day on Sunday 15th between 12 noon and 1pm with results 7 prizes at 3pm.

Angling Club

Ballinakill Angling Club held their final juvenile fishing competition recently. There was 8 participants on the day. 1st with a combined weight of 2lb 5oz was Cian O Shaughnessy. 2nd with th a combined weigh of 1lb 14oz was Cormac Costello. 3rd with a combined weight of 1lb 7oz was Ciaran Costello. Other participants were Cathal O Shaughnessy, Jamie Drury, Cian Mansfield, Ethan Drury and Jack Delaney. Congratulations to all
