All the dancers are geared up for this incoming weekend when rehersals begin for Strictly. The show is on Friday October 25 in the Hertiage Hotel Portlaoise. Tickets are €20 each and can be purchased from Colette on 087-4162377 or Lynda 086-4002140.

Strictly - The Movie

All roads lead to Mountrath GAA Field on Saturday September 21 at 3 pm. There will be a camera crew coming that day to make a short comedy promotional movie for the Strictly Come Dancing Show to be shown on the night. What we need is 100 people or more to come along as extras for the movie. It won’t take long and will be a bit of fun. All ages are very welcome to take part.

Wheelchair golf

The Irish Wheelchair Association Laois Golf Classic takes place in the Mountrath Golf Club on Friday, September 20. All proceeds will be invested in services the Association provides to people with disabilities. Set Dancing

On Monday Sept 16th and continuing each Monday (except on Bank Holidays)at 8.30pm in Community Centre Ballyfin set dancing classes will be held. All are welcome to come along and be part of this celebration of our culture.Further queries from Maureen 0876482038

HEART FOUNDATION

The Mountrath branch of Laois Heart Foundation will hold it’s monthly meeting in the Cosy Cafe at 8pm. on Wednesday September 18. All new members are welcome.

The knitting group continues to meet every Friday morning 10:30-12:30. New members always welcome.

BALLYFIN TAX REBATE

Thanks to all parishioners who have returned CHY2 Forms to the Parish over the past few weeks. The work of compiling the information and of making the submission to The Charities Section at The Revenue Commissioners is currently being undertaken. If you have not yet completed the forms for your family, please do so immediately and return them to the Parish so they can be included in the Parish submission to the Revenue Commissioners.

The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages. We would encourage all local clubs and groups to use this facility.

Dog fouling is a growing litter problem. Local awareness to identify the dog owners is required. Please contact the Council’s free phone litter hotline @ 1800 323230 with specific
