Memorial Mass

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Sunday, December 1 in St Fergals Church Camross at 10am for Nell McGrath (mother of Helan Ryan Clonin) who died recently in Ballyferriter Co. Kerry.

Remembrance Tree

A remembrance tree has been placed on the altar in Camross Church. You are invited to write the names of your deceased loved ones, on the slips provided and place them on a branch of the tree. They will be remembered in all masses offered in Camross and Killanure during the month of November. On Sunday, November 24 Fr Lalor will offer special prayers of remembrance at 10am. Mass for all our deceased family and friends.

Active Retirement

Camross Active Retirement Group are holding a church gate collection on Saturday, November 23 at churches in Camross, Killanure and Annatrim in aid of group Funds. Permit has been granted. Next active retirement bingo is on Sunday, November 24 at 2pm.

Dinner Dance

The annual Pioneer dinner dance takes place at the Manor Hotel Abbeyleix on Friday November 29. Music by Solataire. A great night assured.


The annual general meeting of Camross GAA had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and has rescheduled for the GAA centre Derrynaseera on this Friday, November 22 commencing at 8pm.


Sympathy is extended to Paddy Fitzpatrick formerly of Lacca on the death of his father-in-law Michael Ryan of Kilmurray, Stradbally.

Camross rural transport users extend deepest sympathy to their Bus driver Jackie Byrne of Ringstown on the death of his father Billie who was laid to rest on Friday last in Mountrath.

Months Mind Mass

The Months Mind mass for the Late Sadie Delaney of Camross will be celebrated in St Fergal’s Church Camross on Saturday night, November 23 at 8pm.

Slieve Bloom Christmas Dinner

The annual Slieve Bloom association christmas dinner will take place in the community centre, Camross on Sunday, November 24. The meal followed by musical entertainment costs €20 but booking is essential. If you wish to join in the festivities please call Kathleen at 086 3852737 as early as possible.


Sympathy is extended to Ellen And Rody Culleton, Cranagh on the death of Ellen’s Mother Teresa(Tess) O’Dea Errill. Also to the Finan family, Derrin, Borris in Ossory on the tragic death of Shane Finan, and the Kelly family Portlaoise on the death of Gretta Kelly. Christy Kelly, Gretta’s husband, is well known in the Camross area for his work as a paramedic. May they rest in peace.
