4th Laois Scouts

The AGM of the 4th Laois Scouts Portarlington will take place on Tuesday November 26 at 8.30pm in the Scout Den. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Bereavement Mass

Mass for all who were bereaved during the past year will be celebrated as follows: St Michael’s Church on Friday November 22 at 7.30pm. St Paul’s Church Emo on Saturday November 23 at 7.30pm.

Carol Singing

st patrick’s bns Breakfast Club

St Patrick BNS breakfast club are looking for volunteers. The breakfast club runs three days per week, Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8am to 9pm. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Yvonne Pearson at the school on 057 8623394.

CAROL SERVICE and nativity play

A carol service/nativity play will take place in St Michael’s Church, Portarlington on Friday December 20 commencing at 7.30pm. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to take time out from the flurry of Christmas preparations, to reflect on the real message of Christmas. A Christmas cake sale takes place on Friday November 22 at 7pm, at Alan and Mavis Robinsons’ house, Garryhinch. Homemade Christmas goodies, teas and coffees, Christmas raffle with numerous prizes including a Christmas hamper. All proceeds to Portarlington and Monasterevin Union of Parishes. 

Shoebox Appeal

Dolores Lalor would like to thank Georgina and her team for their help with the recent shoebox appeal. A total of 224 shoeboxes was collected and filled for charity.

Car Boot Sale

Care to Drive

Transport service is available for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore. This service is completely free to the patient. A volunteer driver will pick you up at the door of your home and bring you to the hospital. After treatment you will be brought home. So, if you are having trouble getting to and from the hospital, then speak to your oncology/haematology team, or call Gail in the Irish cancer Society at 01 2310566.

Fundraising Dance

A fundraising dance will be held in The Gandon Inn, Emo on Friday November 29 for the St Vincent de Paul. Music by Unity. Dancing from 9 to 12. Local auctioneer Matt Dunne will conduct an auction on the night. All donations for auction or raffle would be appreciated. Admission only €5. Raffle tickets are on sale at €2 each and can be bought from any committee member or from our shop.
