Sale Of work, raffles and tea/coffee day Sunday, November 24 at the Owenass Hall Mountmellick 11am-4 pm. Proceeds to The Lourdes Invalid Fund and The Cuisle Centre.


A walk has been organised to raise funds to purchase a new piece of equipment for the children’s playground.

The walk will be held on Sunday November 17 at 2pm. It will start at the playground and continue to the top of the playground. We are seeking all parents participation on the day. €5 per family or any donation is welcome.

Christmas Sale

Christmas Sale will be held in the Parochial Hall Mountrath on Wednesday, December 11 from 7 30pm at which there will be Holly wreaths, flowers, cakes and stalls.

Camera Club

Next meeting is Tuesday November 19 at 8pm in METAC, Mountrath. Photo theme is ‘Comfort’, photo size 8x6 inches, one photo per member, don’t forget €3 for the kitty.

Following our regular meeting we will also have our AGM, Tuesday, November 19 at 9pm, all members are encouraged to attend.

Knitting Club

The knitting group continues to meet every Friday morning 10.30am - 12.30pm.


The sale of jam continues in Costcutters and Phelan’s Shop Castletown. We would like to Monday thank everyone for their support for this worthy cause buying jam donating fruit and jars.


The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages. We would encourage all local clubs and groups to use this facility.

Dog fouling is a growing litter problem in the town, every path in the town is covered in it daily. It is a nightmare for walkers and a health hazard for young children. Local awareness to identify the dog owners responsible is required. Please contact the Council’s freephone litter hotline @ 1800 32 32 30 with specific details if witnessed i.e. name and address of dog owner, location, time and date.
