My experience in the student council at Mountrath Community School was very good.

It made me feel very involved in school life. When we organised the Mental Health week it was a huge success and made me feel very accomplished.

I decided to run for the student council because i wanted to be the voice of my class and to help my class with any problem that may arise over the year. I enjoyed going to meetings for the student council and going on different trips to see other student councils in action.

On the day of the student council elections we had to set up the study hall. We had a registration area where student would have their name ticked off the roll.

They would then proceed to the polling booth and finally they posted their votes in the ballot box. We were all in charge of the running of the day and thankfully it all ran off smoothly.

I would recommend everyone to run for the student council.
