The second Parish Lotto draw for 2014 was held in Dec’s Bar with a possible jackpot of 12,500 euro. There was no jackpot winner, small winners were 30 euro Pat Dunne, Ross, 25 euro Alice Gleason, Ballyraggett, 20 euro Mick Walsh, Durrow. The next draw will be held in Lennon’s Bar with a possible jackpot of €12,800 on Monday night January 27. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that night jackpot.

Flower & Garden Club
The AGM of Cullohill/Durrow Flower & Garden Club will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 8pm in Cullohill Community Centre. New members are always welcome. Eva Holmes will give a talk on the garden in the spring.
Enrolment will take place for Our Lady’s Meadow Primary School starting on February 3-28. Enrolment forms can be picked up from the school office between 9am and 3pm.
CULLOHILL SCHOOL REUNION
For all who attended both old Schools a reunion will be held on 20th and 21st September 2014. On Saturday 20th from 10am to 1pm there will be Golf at Rathdowney Golf Course, Evening Mass at 6pm with a Meal in the Community Centre at 8pm. On Sunday 21st at 12pm there will be a walk up Cullohill Mountain followed by refreshments in the Community Centre. Photographs are urgently required for the commemorative School Book. If you have any school, class or family photographs that the Committee could borrow (they will be returned to the owners) it would be much appreciated and will enable the committee to compile the book

The Annual General Meeting of Durrow/Cullohill Parish Anglers was held in the Durrow Inn recently and it was well attended. The following officers were elected for the coming year: Chairman - Philip Kearney; Vice-Chairman - Tommy Coffey; Secretary - Michael Walsh: Asst Sec - Pat Dunphy; Hon Tresurer - Oliver Lawlor. Durrow/Cullohill Membership Senior €40. Day Permit €15, OAPs and suveniles €5. Membership can be paid at Lawlor’s Gala, Lawlor’s Florists and Michael Walsh for Durrow/Cullohill Fishing. Membership for Ganstown Lake Lawlor’s Gala, Lawlor’s florists, Michael Walsh and Matt Doyle. Competition entries for all trout fishing will take place at Lawlor’s Florist’s.

THE HARPS GAA
On a wet and windy Sunday evening at 5pm a good crowd of over 50 individuals braved the testing weather conditions to attend this year AGM. Outgoing chairperson Kieran McEvoy opened proceedings with a review of the year gone before giving reports from the various departments who oversaw the running of the club throughout that year. Congratulations were extended to the Minor team – The Harps Gaels – who were victorious in clinching the county hurling championship title in that grade. Congratulations were also extended to Cullohill Handball Club and The Harps Camogie club for their respective successes throughout the previous season. Seen more in Express Sport.
