The No Limits Ability Centre & Coderdojo Laois Chrismas Market. The Christmas market will take place on the Saturday, December 6 between 12noon and 8pm at the center in Ballyfin.

Science Week

As part of Science Week, the Heritage Office of Laois County Council is working with Science Foundation Ireland to deliver free science workshops to primary schools in Mountrath and Mountmellick. In Mountrath the lucky pupils will be treated to engineering and robotics workshops focussed on Lego! These workshops are being offered to each of the primary schools in the two towns, and not surprisingly, they are already completely booked out. see www.midlandssciencefestival.com

LAOIS HEART FOUNDATION

The Mountrath branch of the Laois Heart Foundation will hold their monthly meeting in the Cosy Café on Wednesday November 19 at 8p.m. All are welcome. New members welcome to join at anytime.

ST. FINTAN’S GAA

The annual Mass for deceased members and friends of the club will be held on Friday Nov 28 at 7-30pm in the clubrooms. This will be followed by the AGM Nomination forms should start arriving within the next few days.

We are holding a €5000 Monster Bingo on Sunday November 30th in Mountrath Community School at 3pm sharp. Massive prize money to be

won plus a fantastic raffle with some amazing all cash prizes. Double book €15, Single Book €10, Single Sheet €2. For bus enquiries call Peter 087 2731322.

The lotto jackpot worth €1000 and held in Kelly’s was not won. Winning numbers 12, 22, 25, 28. Next lotto jackpot is in Kirwan’s and

is worth €1200.

Congratulations to Patrick Williams and Dillon Lalor on being selected onto the 2015 Laois Minor hurling panel. Well done lads and the very best of luck.

Work continues as ever over these past few weeks putting the final touches to the club house. It is great to see so many people lending a

hand. If you would like to help out feel free to come along each Saturday morning or during the week for a few hours during the day.

The Dog Race Night held at Newbridge Greyhound Stadium was an outstanding success. Thanks to all who bought tickets, advertising, sponsoring the races and to the main event sponsor Eddie and Maura Phelan Main St.

The club would like to acknowledge with enormous gratitude a presentation of medals to the club by Ivo Rice. Ivo emigrated to

Australia 35 years ago and returned home for a holiday recently. He has always maintained his close relationship with Mountrath town and

with our club.

The Club would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of the late Seamie Ryan Patrick St who sadly passed away recently.

LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB

Mountrath Ladies Gaelic Football will host their annual Table Quiz on Friday November 7 at 8.30 in Ollie’s. Bring yourself or bring a team - Great craic assured.

Fashion Show

Ballyfin GAA will host a fashion show in the Ballyfin Community Centre on Friday, November 21. Details to follow

Clothes recycling

Ballyfin GAA’s annual clothing recycling drive takes place on Saturday, November 29 at the club house. Details to follow.

CAMERA CLUB

The Mountrath and District Camera Club’s next theme runs for November and is ‘Halloween’, one photo per person; photo size must be 8 x 6 inches only.

The knitting club continues to meet every Friday morning 10:30-12:30pm all welcome

LAOIS HOSPICE

The sale of jam continues in Costcutters Mountrath and Phelan’s Shop Castletown. We would like to thank everyone for their continuing support for this worthy cause by buying jam and donating fruit.

OUTDOOR GYM

The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages. We would encourage all local clubs and groups to use this facility.
