The memorial Mass for the late Danny Hyland, Glebe, Coolrain son of the late Matt & Margaret Hyland, Glebe is on Tuesday 24th of March at 11 am in Camross Church. Danny died in Slough, Buckinghamshire, UK recently and his ashes will be buried after Mass in Camross Cemetery. May he rest in Peace. Danny was 5th in line of a family of 10, Maura, Mickey Joe, Podge, Colrain; Chrissy,Birmingham Danny RIP Slough; Rita, London; Sean, Dublin; Brendan, Galway; Imelda, Thurles; Colin, Dublin. He hurled for Camross in 1963 and 1964, then went to England where he hurled for Eire Óg Oxford and St. Mels Slough. He was a very tidy corner back. Danny never married. He was aged 73 R.I.P. Danny’s funeral Mass was on Friday 20th.

5K Fun Run
Camross N.S. Parents Council are holding their annual 5K Fun Run on Sunday April 12 @ 12.30 and “beat the teachers dash” @ 11.30am. This is their main fundraiser for this year and all support would be gratefully appreciated.
The next Community Dance will take place in Camross Hall on Sat. 4th as it is Holy Saturday night dancing will be from 10pm to 1. Please note change of time.
There will be a tidy towns meeting held in the Camross inn on Thursday the 26th of March @ 8.30 p.m. All welcome.
Sincere thanks to all those who supported our recent fashion show in aid of Church renovation. The amount raised was €3,500.
Camross GAA club extend its deepest sympathy to the families of Maurice Healy a former club secretary and Dan Hyland of the Glebe Coolrain who died in England.
On the playing pitch Camross we’re scheduled to play Cuala of Dublin on Saturday in the Leinster league. The under sixteen hurlers lost out to Castletown in the opening game of the league. Mountrath Community school were due to play Oranmore of Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday last and for results please check Laois GAA website. An error in last weeks notes should have read the lucky winner in the County Board draw was Donie Coyne of Northgrove not Donal Hynes apologies to all concerned.
Camross GAA Club wish to sincerely thank everybody who assisted the Club in the past two months. Because of your support we wish to announce the following funds raised: Croke Park €10 tickets sold were 354. All Club County Board Draws (€130 ticket): Tickets sold 321. Auction held 15/02/15: raised just over €11,000.
Membership for 2015 is now due. To ensure Full Club Membership and voting rights, your Membership must be paid on/before 31/03/2015 to any Committee Member.
