The finals of the Dineen Refractories primary schools table quiz was held in Killeen Hall. Killeshin scored a magnificent 69 points from a possible 70 to win the cup easily. Thanks to parents, teachers, sponsors and Pat Whelan and his team.

MRS LIL HAYES
The death took place on March 9, at Beechwood Nursing Home, Leighlinbridge, of Mrs Lil Hayes, (nee Malone) Doonane, Crettyard. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen and daughter, Margaret. Her remains were removed from Healy’s Funeral Home, Carlow to St Abbans Church, Doonane where they were received by Fr D. Murphy and Fr Jimmy O’Reilly. Burial took place in adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her son, Jim, daughters, Kathleen, Mary, Angela and Anne, sister, Kitty (Birmingham) sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and a large circle of friends.
