Late William (Willie) COOGAN

Condolences to the family of the late William ‘Willie’ Coogan Carlow Rd, Crettyard who died on May 24. sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughter Collette, sons, Thomas and Colm, sisters, Kitty, Áine, Mae, Bridgie, Trish, Theresa, and Lill, brothers, Joe, Seamus, and Tom, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposed at home. Removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.


Eight children from Newtown NS received their First Holy Communion in St Abban’s Church, Doonane. They were: Teri Pender, Jack Scully; Triplets, Ava Delaney, Cameron Delaney and Scott Delaney, Nikola Stepien, Aaron Duignan & Kaitlin O’Neill.


Top Score at Newtown Whist on Saturday last was won by Maureen Coady. Ladies: 1. Margaret Kealy. 2. Hannah Moore. Gents: 1. Christy Maher. 2. M. Wheatley. Halves: 1. Seamus Hennessy. 2. Willie Wallace. Quarters: 1. Mary Gowing. 2. Mary Warren. Raffle winners: Hannah Moore, Tom Kealy, Seamus Hennessy, Annette Lawlor and Leslie Hunter. Whist as usual on Saturday next.
