SAD DEATH

The death took place peacefully at her home of Kate (Catherine) Neale, Rath, Kilgorey, Crettyard on April 18. Kate was originally from Burgessland, Newcastle, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. She had been ill for sometime. Kate was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her remains were removed from her home to the Church of Ireland, Mayo, Crettyard. Funeral took place to Mount Jerome Crematorium. Sympathy is extended to her husband, Thomas, sons, Mason and Theo, father, mother, brother, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Raffle winners were Sean Langton, Margaret Brennan, Christy Maher,Eeamon Wheatley and Birdie Langton.

Last week’s winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were John Cormac Brennan, Sallysbridge, Oisin McNally c/oMartin Patterson, Ronan Hughes, Doonane. The winning numbers were 3-20-22-29.

NOVENA

The Solemn Novena continues in St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, Carlow and the speaker on Monday May7 is Fr Michael Mernagh, Augustinian priest. All are welcome.

SET DANCING

Classes continue in Behans of Tolerton on Thursday commencing at 8.30pm. All are welcome.

ROSARY

The rosary is recited at Our Lady’s Shrine, Rossmore, each Sunday at 3pm.

CRETTYARD LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL CLUB

Crettyard Ladies Footballers are holding a table quiz in Behans of Tolerton on Friday May 11 commencing at 9pm sharp. Table of 4 costs €40. 1st prize is €100 and all are welcome.

CABARET

On Sunday May 6 there will be a cabaret in the Swan Inn in aid of the Laois/Offaly palliative team whose help, support and kindness was very much appreciated by the family of the late Mary Stanley of the Swan. Music is by Eugene Kavanagh. All support would be welcome.
