The death took place at her residence last week of Mrs Margaret Hyland (nee Delaney), the Glebe Coolrain wife of the late Matt. Her remains reposed at Burkes Funeral Home Mountrath and were removed to St Fergals Church Camross for requiem mass on Thursday assisted by a Pallotine Fr from Thurles, also in attendance was a young man from the USA, a friend of the family who hopes to be ordained in the next couple of months. The readings and prayers of the faithful were taken care of by her grandchildren. Mrs Hyland was in her 100th year and did enjoy good health in general she always resided in the Glebe, just moving house after getting married and most of her long life was spent caring for her family and all of the chores that go with farm life. She is mourned by her daughters Mary, Chrissie, Rita and Imelda, sons Joe Paudge, Dan, Sean, Brendan and Colm, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, cousins relatives and friends. Sincere sympathy to all of her family.
The death took place in St Vincent’s Hospital Mountmellick of Corneilus (Con) Culleton of Crannagh, Mountrath and formerly of Johnsboro. Con’s remains reposed at his son’s residence and werer removed to St Fergal’s Church on Sunday evening where they were received by Very Rev Fr Lalor PP assisted by Very Rev Fr Pat Hennessey PP Mountrath. On Monday requiem mass was offered by Fr Lalor assisted by Very Rev Fr Willie Hennessey PP Castletown. The readings and the prayers of the faithful were taken care of by his grandchildren as were the offertory gifts. Con was then lais to rest in the adjoining cemetry alongside his late wife Bridget.
Con is regretted by his sons Rody, John and Corry his daughters Chrissie and Martha, his sisters Lizzie and Nan his grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was pre deceased by his sisters Mollie, Josie, Nora, Teresa (Tess) and Philomena. Con was in his 95th year and it was not easy times that Con lived through. He was a wonderful workman no matter if it was helping a neighbour, farming or working in the forest. He enjoyed life to the full at all times and to his loving family we extend our sympathy.

Congratulations to Killanure ICA who travelled to An Trionan on Saturday to take part in a set dancing competition and took 2nd place. It is quite a journey to travel and take part in a set dancing competition all in the one day, but they did it and well done Ladies.
The monthly dance will take place on Saturday May 5. Music on the night will be preformed by Checkers. Dancing from 9.30 to 12.30, supper will be served.
