Council cheer for Christmas market

Led by Chairman Cllr Pat Bowe, they expressed full support for a local committee which is planning to hold a Christmas market in the Square.

There would be about 30 stalls in the market, said the Chairman. He added, “I propose we support them in every way.”

Cllr Paddy Bracken hailed the new and novel initiative. “I think it’s a great idea.”

Cllr Marc Connolly added, “It’s supporting local business. Mary Fallon (organiser) deserves great credit for it.”

Cllr Stephen Lynch wished the organisers well. “It’s going to bring business to the town.”

Cllr Michael Gormley said it’s great for the festive season. “It’s a wonderful idea.”

Cllr Rosemary Whelan wished organisers ‘the best of luck’ and Cllr Ollie Payne said, “They should get every help.”
