IT’S that time of the year again, when Ballyfin parents council hold their Christmas Bazaar in Ballyfin Community Hall. The bazaar will be taking place this Sunday December 2 from 10.30am to 4pm.
Over the years, the bazaar has proved to be a popular tradition and this year there are more craft stalls and family activities than ever before. People can make an early start with their Christmas gifts as they browse through the stalls displaying woodturning, jewellery, home baking, oak frames and furniture, balloon gifts, candles, personalised gifts, cards, pottery, slates, Margaret’s embroidery and many, many more.
People can start ticking items off the to-do list as they can pick up home baked Christmas treats, decorations, wreaths or pre order their turkey from Fran Feighrey’s award winning butcher.
As well as fun for the adults, there will be lots to keep the children entertained with face painting, go carts and other games such as ‘How many baubles are on the Christmas Tree’. People can also try their luck on the The Wheel of Fortune where there are always lots of prizes to be won.
Organisers hold a monster raffle on the day with over 15 prizes to be won. Continuing on from last year’s tradition, this year’s first prize is a dinner for two at the exclusive Ballyfin Demesne. Tickets for the raffle can be bought in the hall on the day at €2 each. Organisers say that this is a lovely family day out.
People can shop till they drop or relax in Anne’s cafe which will be serving delicious home made products throughout the day. Admission is €2 for adults and children are free. All are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
