SOLEMN NOVENA

Guest speakers for Monday 22 April, Fr Aidan Troy, former Parish Priest, Holy Cross, Belfast. The rosary is recited at 7.10pm and Mass begins at 7.30pm. Each night a special guest speaker will speak for about 15 to 20 minutes about their work and how their faith guides them. Our Novena draws inspiration from these speakers and it is also an opportunity for the whole community to come together and pray for one another.

KILLESHIN AFC LOTTO

There was no winner of the recent lotto draw. The numbers drawn were 14, 19, 23 and 28. The four lucky dip winners were Anthony Brennan, Marion Reddy, Mick Bowden and Clare Kelly, each received €25. The seller’s prize of €25 was won by Mick Dargan. The Jackpot now stands at €9,000 and tickets can be purchased for €2 from any club member or in the local shop and public houses.

WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

Killeshin FC is running a fundraiser on Saturday May 4 at their pitch in the Quakers field next to the new school. This world record breaking attempt at three legged racing is open to all age groups. Sponsorship cards are available from Denise McDonald at 0860767731. The start time for this event is 11.30am sharp and registration will start at 9am. There will be loads of activities to keep participants amused while waiting for the off time.

First Holy Communion and Confirmation next Saturday, April 20 at 10.30am in St. Clare’s Church. Please note there will be no 10am Mass in St Clare’s on Saturday morning

KILLESHIN FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Killeshin First Holy Communion is on next Sunday, April 21. Forty children will make their First Holy Communion at two special Masses at 10.15am and 12.30pm.

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

The Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from Monday to Saturday July 1-6. If interested please contact Tully’s Travel.

CRYS 5KM FUN RUN/WALK

Carlow Regional Youth Services are holding a 5km fun run/walk and family day on Sunday, April 21 at 11.30am from Carlow rugby club. Entry is open to people of all ability, with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment! Registration fees are €10 for adults and €5 for U18’s. KILLESHIN GAA

Killeshin GAA will be holding a blessing for their new development on Saturday April 20 at 3.30pm. This will be followed by matches in the new grounds for all teams from Under 6 to Senior. Everyone is welcome to attend this long awaited day for the club.

HOLY COMMUNION

First Holy Communion for St Fiacc’s N.S will take place on Saturday 27 April.

HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE

The parish is investigating the possibility of having their second pilgrimage to the Holy Land following the very successful trip in 2009. Subject to interest they plan to travel on April 22 2014 for nine days, eight night trip to many sites including the Sea of Galilee, Tiberius, Nazareth, Cana, Mount Taber, Jordan River, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and many other Biblical sites. The cost of the pilgrimage will be €1,475 approx. so people have a full year to save for the trip. They parish needs to know if people are interested therefore you are asked to give your name with a €100 deposit to Tully’s Travel before June 1, 2013.

BOCCIA PROGRAMME

Boccia is a competitive sport similar to bowls. It is an inclusive sport that may be enjoyed by people of all abilities. It’s on Thursdays in St Fiacc’s Hall from 5 to 6pm for 10 to 18 year olds.
