Invitations were distributed to parishioners for the Annual Party and Get Together of Camross Senior Citizens on Sunday April 21 in Camross Community Hall. Camross Macra would like to thank everyone who supported our Table Quiz on April 5. It was a great night. The buns went down a treat.

Congrats to all members that competed last Sunday in the final of the county round of the volleyball Competition. It was a close match however Mountmellick will go forward to represent Laois in the National Final Sunday next in Kilkenny.

Best of Luck to Club Chairman Joe Phelan who will represent Laois in the upcoming Mr Personality competition in Kilkenny next weekend April 19 and 20. If people are interested in going to show support can you contact the Macra phone or Lucy. If there is enough interest we will get a bus organised for the Friday and Saturday night.

A good number of the Camross ICA ladies and their friends attended the annual ICA dinner in Portarlington on Friday.


The death took place during the past week in Mountmellick Hospital of Mrs. Mai Cuddy (nee Thompson) daughter of the late Joe & Mrs. Thompson Bawnreigh. Her remains reposed at Burkes funeral home Mountrath on Tuesday night and were removed to St. Fintans Church on Wednesday morning for Requiem Mass and afterwards in St. Fintans cemetry. She is mourned by her sister Nancy brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other rellatives. Mai had five brothers who had all passed away before her. To her sorrowing family we extend sincere sympathy. Sympathy goes also to Mrs Fint Scully on the death of her brother who died recently at a rather young age.

Mass times

Our Mass times in Camross and Kilanure are as follows, Camross Saturday evening 8pm. Sunday Monday and Friday 7.30pm. Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am. There is no Mass on Tuesday. Kilanure is on Sunday morning at 8.45. There is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament 7.00 to 7.30pm on Friday.

Fine Gael AGM

The Fine Gael AGM will take place on Friday, April 19 at 8.30pm in the Camross Community hall. Existing and new members are welcome. Local TD Charlie Flanagan will be in attendance.
