A great weekend was had in Timahoe last weekend.

The Medley Day in cooperation with the gathering was a huge success.

A great Saturday night of musical entertainment was had in the hall.

Our plan for outside at the tower was ruined by the persistent rain, but we also persisted and refused to let it ruin the festivities.

We had music from the choir, Durrow pipers, the ranchers, Karen Fitzpatrick and Breda McEvoy, Richard Mansworth, Buggie school of dance, Joe Quigley and John Brophy.

It was fantastic and we raised €300 for the Cuilse Centre in Portlaoise.

On Sunday we witnessed the best Medley Day in recent years, the return of the donkey derby won by Karol Ramsbottom on his controversial ‘Spanish ass’ the mouse racing and duck races only added to the usual Medley events. The sight of kids looking for a key in a bale of straw brought back years of memories for all.

The evening finished off with music from the Bluffers and Midlife Crisis.

A great weekend of fun and gathering of Timahoeens. Thanks to all the organising committee and the tourism officer in Laois County Council.

PlAYGROUND opening

Well done to all last Friday on the opening of the playground, a brilliant asset to our community and long may it be respected.

The community came out in their droves and we got great entertainment from the national school.

Well done to all involved.

Please help keep the village clean and tidy.

We have entered a knock out litter competition against other similar sized villages starting in June.
