DRAMA SUMMER CAMP
Clodiagh Players holds a two week drama camp for children age 6-18 years in the community centre, July 7 to 18. €50 per child, 2 siblings €80, 3 siblings €100. Application forms in Flynn’s PO. Thank you to all who supported the recent Cuisle Centre, local cancer support centre collection and to all the collectors. Total amount collected was €548.33.
Clonaslee parish joined the other parishes in the Kildare & Leighlin Pilgrimage on June 1 with Bishop Denis Nulty. A banner representing Clonaslee was carried in the procession. Thank you to all who travelled and enjoyed a very moving pilgrimage. Sincere thanks to our driver Eugene Mahon. Another trip is planned to Knock on August 14.
All masses will be at 8 pm as follows: June 20 Corrigeen cemetery; June 27 Kilmanman cemetery.
Music classes continue weekly until June 26 in the community centre from 4.15 pm on Thursdays. Beginners welcome.
Now on Saturdays in the community centre from 10 – 11 am. Suitable for male or females, from beginners to advanced. €7, all welcome.
National judging taking place so please use bins and clean up after your dog, these have been the main problems with losing points. Thanks to Pat Fenlon and to the FAS participants for all their help.
On May 29 at 11am the first judging took place:
Main Street: kerbs clean and well presented. Businesses responsibly kept, 2 cigarette butts and coca cola can 19/20. Hillside View: works ongoing in estate but spotless. Very clean and neat grass, freshly mown 20/20. Church grounds: Absolutely beautiful, no sign of litter present. Worker there at the time of judging 20/20. Overall effort: It is evident that pride is being taken in Clonaslee and efforts to keep the area clean and tidy. 20/20 Total 99/100. Judges comments: Clonaslee is a pleasure to visit, clear effort is being made by all and businesses to keep Clonaslee clean. Clonaslee Tidy Towns your efforts are to be commended. Clonaslee go through to semi-finals, competing against Emo. We appeal to everyone to please make this happen. Thanks to everyone for their help and support. Next judging June 2 – 13.

Congrats to past pupils Dawn Flynn and Alison Kelly, joint winners of the Senior Student Award ’13-’14 at Clonaslee College. Past pupil Chloe Breen was awarded Junior Student of the year at Clonaslee College. Well done to Shauna Mulhall who won a Leinster U 14 football medal with the Laois Lady Footballers. She scored 1-2 in the final against Kildare and captained the school team that won the Cumann na mBunscol Roinn 3 final in 2012-2013. Best of luck to all past pupils sitting exams.
