Condolences to the family of the late Trumera, Mountrath who died on Friday March 6. Reposed in Burkes Funeral Home, Mountrath. Removal to St Fintan’s Church. Funeral Mass followed by Burial in St. Fintans Cemetery Mountrath.


The Mountrath branch of Laois Heart Foundation will hold their monthly meeting in the cosy cafe on March 18 at 8pm. All members are asked to attend. New members are always welcome to join.


The lotto was held on Monday 9 and the numbers drawn were 6,7,20,26. There was no winner and next weeks jackpot stands at €5,000 and the draw will take place on Monday 16 in Purcell’s Pub, Mountrath.

On behalf of the club we would like to congratulate all those involved in the adult Scor. Even though they were unfortunate not to get through to the Leinster’s they all did the club and county proud.

Huge congratulations to Mountrath Community School on their great win in the Leinster Final held during the week. Well done to all involved and the very best of luck in the All Ireland semis v Loughrea.

The club are running a Croagh Patrick Challenge on the April 25 so if you would like to take on the challenge and help fundraise for the local club you can contact Monica on 085-2445610 for further information and sponsorship card. Also the same night there will be a function in Eddie Kirwan’s in a Marquee with music by the brilliant Mid Life Crisis Band, supported by Tony Phelan and friends, admission is €5.
