A Memorial Plaque for Paddy Lowry, founder member of the Slieve Bloom Association is to be erected in Kinnitty, in a ceremony in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary celebrations, on Sunday, April 12. To attend and enjoy a reasonably priced meal and entertainment, contact Mary at 057 862 8650. Next meeting is on Thursday, March 19 in the Poet’s Cottage, Camross at 8:30pm, details of the 40th Celebration will be finalised.
A coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day will be held at John & Claire Hartnett’s, Capard. On Saturday March 21 from 10am to 1pm. There will be a free draw on the day. All support very welcome.
Valerie Hogan would like to thank all who sponsored her for Shave or Dye on behalf of The Irish Cancer Society. She raised €507 and the overall amount raised by AIT 2nd year General Nursing students was €2,558.81.
trad music lessons
Music classes continue every Thursday from 6pm in the community centre with two music teachers. The instruments being taught are mandolin, tin whistle, banjo, concertina, fiddle and button accordian. SafeTalk - Suicide Alertness
This is a Suicide Alertness Skills Workshop that aims to build individual and community capacity to promote positive mental health and address suicide prevention. This programme outlines the definitions of mental health, the attributes of positive mental health and suggests ways of maintaining an optimum level of well-being. The workshop will help participants identify persons who may be having thoughts of suicide and connect them to appropriate resources and supports.
This free workshop takes place on Thursday 26th of March, in Rosenallis GAA Club Rooms, at 7.30pm - 10.30pm. All welcome to attend. Tea and coffee provided.
Clonaslee Comhaltas are holding a music concert on Friday March 20 at 8pm in the Parochial hall, admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
Mountmellick Comhaltas hold their Annual Comhaltas Concert on Friday March 27 in the Arts Centre (across from Credit Union). All welcome. Adults €5, Children €3.
