A Memorial Plaque for founder member Paddy Lowry is to be erected in Kinnitty, in a ceremony combining the 40th Anniversary on Sunday April 12. FOOD courses

A 6 week course on healthy eating starts in the Community Centre at the end of March. Material by a Community Dietician. Ingredients supplied.

A free four week Stop Food Waste Challenge course to raise awareness about food waste, from menu planning to composting, also begins shortly. To book a place or find out more, phone 8648277.

TIDY TOWNS

Attendance was poor at meeting. New projects include a spiral flower at the Heritage Centre made by John and Finbarr, complimented by many. Clean Up Laois Week is in April, we appeal to clubs, schools and the community to get involved, and encourage participants to the Stop Food Waste course. Thanks to Fas workers and Pat Fenlon.

Discussed at the meeting were; cleaning the astro pitch, Christmas lights ESB bill, review of social night, Clodiagh River bridge cleaning and water lying on the street. Heating and steps at Heritage to be checked. New food and woodcraft courses at community centre. Clean Up Laois Week in April, further money received from sale of Fr O’Reilly’s book.

SCOIL BHRIDE NEWS

Noah Flynn is home from hospital and all look forward to his return to school. Congrats to 2nd class on their First Confession last week. 5th and 6th will receive Confirmation on Tuesday March 24. Work will soon end on refurbishment of the Sensory/Prayer Room. Parents who have not yet enrolled their child for next year please do so now. Well done to the Green School Committee who applied for a Green Flag Renewal, they will find out in April. Congrats to Paul Mulhall and Cathal Lee, chosen for the Midland Soccer League.
