ACTIVITY CENTRE OPENING
Fiacc’s House proudly announce the official opening of the activity centre at 4pm on Saturday June 9. This represents the latest expression of the spirit of generosity of our community. All volunteers past and present are invited to attend the ceremony as are all who contributed in any way over the years to Fiacc’s House.
PRIESTS SUMMER COLLECTION
This quarterly collection will be taken up at all masses next weekend June 9 and 10. Envelopes are available in the envelope boxes or alternatively special envelopes are available at church doors.
The annual cemetery masses will be held as follows: Killeshin on Friday June 8 at 7.30pm; Leaugh on Monday, June 18 at 7.30pm; Sleaty on Friday, June 22 at 7.30pm and St Mary’s on Monday, July 11 at 7.30pm.
Killeshin FC will hold their AGM on Thursday June 7 in the Talbot Hotel Carlow. Start time is at 8pm and new members welcome to attend.
There was no winner of the recent lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 10, 11, 14 and 20. The four lucky dip winners were; Ollie Brennan, Colm Fitzgerald, Tom Hickey Jnr and Antony Pender, each will receive €25. The seller’s prize of €25 was won by Mary Hickey. The jackpot for next week stands at €4500 and tickets can be purchased for €2 from all club members and local shop and public houses.
PARISH SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMMES
The final week of our programme takes place next weekend with special masses on Saturday June 9 at 6.30pm in St Clare’s and at 10.15am on Sunday June 10 in Holy Cross.
Monster bingo this Tuesday night at 8.30pm in Graiguecullen Hall. Great money to be won on the night, all lines checks €50, double lines €60 and full house’s from €150 to €200 plus jackpot, interval and flyer on the night also. All loose sheets €2 each, six panel book €5, double book €10. Everyone welcome and bring a friend.
Killeshin FC is looking for donations of old clothing, old hand bags, old shoes or even old bed clothes. Just put all you’re unwanted used or out of fashion clothes into big bin bags and donate them at our pick up point at the hall car park Killeshin on Saturday June 9 from 2pm to 4pm only. Anyone with a large amount to donate can contact 086 8533582 and we can arrange a van to collect. All money made from this collection will go towards our new pitch development.

The seventh Solemn Novena finishes next Monday night June 11 at 7.30pm and the guest speaker is Joe Canning, senior Galway hurler, All-Star Award winner and UNICEF Ireland Ambassador.

ST CLARE’S ALTAR SOCIETY
Urgent extra help is needed to clean the church on Thursdays. This involves sweeping and washing of floors and takes about 1.5 hours. If you would be willing to help 11am to 12.30 or 2 to 3.30pm for one month three times a year please contact the parish centre.

Graiguecullen Parish Childcare Centre is taking enrolments for the free ECCE preschool year for September 2012. There are also reduced rate and sub vented places, (CCS and GETS), in their preschool for the year prior to the ECCE preschool year.
MEN’S HEALTH SCREENING DAY.
The Irish Wheelchair Association men’s group are holding a men’s health screening day on Friday June 8 at their resource and outreach centre, Teach Failte, Kilkenny Road, Carlow from 10am to 2pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be available.
