This year’s theme for the parade will be ‘The Gathering of The Clans’. The idea is to get as many people as possible to draw and decorate their family name on a banner and display it in the parade or as a spectator. If the family name is famous or renowned for something, we want to know that too. We will have prizes for the best decorated, the funniest, the best story (or yarn) and the most foreign name we can see in the Square. Another spectacular part of our parade will be the promotion of horses for what they are really meant for-- to draw carriages, sulkies and riders through the town. Lets hope there are a few left. Of course we will have all the usual clubs and associations taking part again this year along with our two school bands. The parade will start at 3.30pm on Station Road. It will march through the Main Street by the viewing platform which will be situated in the Square where the judging will take place. The parade will continue around to Supervalu where it will finish. We will have entertainment for the kids and live music in the square and at the Anvil Inn until 6pm. This is a work in progress and we’ll be adding to it as the days go on. All are welcome in the parade. Contact Margaret at 087 6715668 for further information.
