Committee would like to wish you all a Happy St. Patrick’s Day and hope to see you all at the parade. The parades theme is “ The Gathering” it starts at 3.30pm prizes given for the best float Prizes: 1st €100 2nd €75 3rd €50 tea & refreshments are available in the hall everyone welcome for the announcement of winning float. Walking floats meet at the Green School Driving Floats meet at Johnsgrove, please follow the instructions of the stewards.

Will be holding a church gate collection for our juvenile team members next weekend March 16/17 your continued support would be greatly appreciated.

Schools meeting

The National Parent’s Council Post Primary will host an information evening for parents on the new Framework for the Junior Cycle, beyond 2014, on Thursday 14th March in Laois Education Centre, Block Rd., Portlaoise. tOlease email information@npcpp.ie to register. The meeting will begin at 7.30pm with refreshments from 7pm and will conclude by 9.15pm.

Slieve Bloom Summer School

The event wil explore the geology and biodiversity of this area with John Feehan over 5 days of the Offaly Biodiversity Summer school . The school runs from July 1-5. Cost €100. Booking is essential – contact heritage@offalycoco.ie for details.

Mountmellick Comhaltas

Thank you for your support during our recent Church Gate Collection. Well done to all the musicians who played in the Credit Union Offices for the launch of the upcoming Drama Festival. Next Comhaltas will play in the Arts Centre on Saturday, March 9 and Wednesday, March 13 from 7:15 to 8pm before the plays start on those nights. Remember our Annual Concert is on March 22nd starting at 7:30pm. All welcome to join in the reading of children’s books in Irish during Seachtain na Gaeilge in the Library at 4pm on March 14th.
