Our Star Nicole

The people of Portarlington and surrounding areas would like to wish Nicole Turner the very best of luck in the World Dwarf Games in Michigan Usa. Nicole is one of the team members representing Ireland. Nicole will be competing in swimming, athletics, badminton, new age kurling, soccer, basketball, volleyball and hockey. We will keep you posted on how she does. Nicole and the team visited President Michael D. Higgins last Friday at Aras an Uachtarain. Best of luck to Nicole and her very proud family.

Well done Seodhna

Congratulations once again to Seodhna Hoey on another spectacular performance in the all Ireland under 16 hammer event. The Droughill sports Star had 4 personal best throws in competition and won the silver medal with a throw of 46.93 metres. Seodhna, a virtual novice in this event narrowly missed out on gold. She adds this medal to her silver in the all Ireland discus event two weeks ago. Earlier in the year Seodhna missed over three months training due to a knee injury. These recent achievements clearly show her determination and talent. Well done Seodhna.
