OUR LADY’S MEADOW PRIMARY SCHOOL
The start of the school year has been shadowed by great sorrow on the passing of Ms Kelly’s husband, Peter Coe. Peter had a great love of music and displayed his musical talent at many school events. The parents council wish to extend their deepest sympathies to Helen and both families on behalf of all the parents in Our Lady’s Meadow.
A big welcome to the 30 junior infants who have started in the school this year and indeed to the 167 students who have returned again for another year. A warm welcome to the new teachers, Ms Dervla Dunne and Ms Ryan.
Could we please ask parents to be mindful of the one-way traffic system that is in use during school hours. We would ask that you approach the school for drop-off/collection by entering the green via the Castle Durrow entrance and exit via The Stores. Please keep the zebra crossings clear at all times.
Both parents and students were delighted to see that Ms Kenneally was back in her classroom to greet her pupils for the coming year.
Last April, May and June all pupils from First class to Sixth class had the opportunity to take part in a ten-week hurling skills base training session each Friday afternoon. A big thank you to Gabby Irwin, Conor Murphy, Vinnie Cooney and Tommy Walsh from The Harps GAA Club who made this possible. It is hoped to run a similar 8-week programme this October and November.
