The December Parish social takes place in the Parish centre on this Saturday night December 6th commencing at nine o’clock and admission is €7 and in appreciation of their loyal supporters who have attended all year there will be a free Christmas raffle on the evening so come along and enjoy a great evenings entertainment.

A clothes collection in aid of Fr Paddy Hyland’s mission will take place from Killanure and Camross schools on Thursday, December 11. All unwanted clothes, footwear and bedding etc., can be left in the play shelters of either schools anytime on Monday 8th , Tuesday 9th Wednesday 10th or on Thursday morning before 9.30a.m. (Be assured that all proceeds from the clothing will go directly to Fr Paddy.
Hard luck to Sheeran’s Sawmills of Coolrain and Mountrath who suffered defeat in the recent Leinster final to the Offaly representatives by a narrow margin of two points.
Vintage club AGM
Camross Vintage club are holding their Annual General meeting in the Poets Cottage on Saturday night December 6th at nine o’clock and all members are asked to be in attendance and new members are always welcome. The Vintage club do wonderful work and they recently presented a sizeable cheque to the Parish Priest and all funds will be used for further development within the Parish.

Castletown Primary School Parents Council are holding a Christmas Craft Fair in Community Centre, Castletown on Sunday, December 7 from 11am to 6pm. Admission is free, there will be lots of local craft on display and it will be a great opportunity to get some Christmas Shopping done.
Santa Claus will also be making an appearance on the day.

CCÉ Camross are holding their AGM in Camross Hall on Thursday, December 4 at 8.30pm. Your attendance will be greatly appreciated. Laois Comhaltas County Board are holding the 2014 AGM in Camross Hall on Wednesday, December 10 at 8pm. All CCÉ are welcome to attend. Camross Comhaltas are holding the annual Christmas Concert in Camross Hall on Sunday December 14 from 3-5pm. Members of the community are very welcome to attend. If anyone wishes to learn the Harp, please contact Lisa on 087 9856107 as soon as possible. This offer is open to those within and outside the branch and is also open to both children and adults. The cost is €7.50 per person per half hour and classes will most likely take place on a Monday evening in Camross Hall.
Coolrain Vintage Run
Coolrain Vintage Run took place on October 26 last. It was a huge success with 87 entries. Thanks to all who helped out with this years event. This years funds of €1000 was given to Coolrain Tidy Village.
